Nora Frances Boykin

On Sunday, September 4, 2022, Nora Frances Boykin, formally of Maryville, TN, drew her last breath and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 91 years old.
Nora was born on March 20, 1931 in Trebloc, MS. to the late Benjamin M. and Eva Huffman. She received her teaching degree from Mississippi Southern and taught for 40 years in the Louisville and Middlesettlements Elementary schools, after she moved to Maryville, TN. with her husband, Gordon L. Boykin and beloved son, Chip. She retired in 1993. Nora was a faithful member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Maryville, TN where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school for a number of years. She loved her church family where many friendships were made. In 2014, she moved to North Carolina to be closer to her family. Nora made such an impact on everyone around her with her kindness, joyful spirit and radiant smile. Her faith in the Lord was a reflection of her love for others. She loved her family beyond words and was always there for them. We will dearly miss her but are forever thankful to our loving Lord Jesus for the hope we have in Him to see her again one day. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon L. Boykin. She is survived by her son, Chip (Melissa), grandchildren Megan Boykin Freeman (Josh), Benjamin Travis Boykin (Ryan) and great grandchildren Joshua Blake Freeman and Bodie Gordon Boykin. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care who cared for Nora and to her caregivers at Harbor Chase Assisted Living in Rock Hill, SC and The Laurels at Carolina Place in Pineville, NC. Nora's Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Grandview Pavilion, 2316 Graves Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
