Newell Manning Standridge

Standridge, Newell Manning age 84 of Alcoa passed away Friday, April 20, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from Oak Ridge Y-12 after 37 years of service and was of the Baptist Faith. Newell was an avid reader and gardener. He will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by: Parents, Joseph & Louie Standridge; Brother, R.B. Standridge; Grandson, Jordan Petree. Survivors include: Wife of 64 years, Doris Standridge; Children, Newell Standridge Jr. & wife Sandy of Bluffton, OH, Timothy Standridge & wife Donna of Walland, Dottie Standridge of Alcoa, Debbie Petree & husband Jack of Maryville, Jan Ingram of Georgia, Donna Stephens of Alcoa, Denise Jarnigan & husband Bryant of Knoxville, and Dawn Haynes & husband Jeff of Maryville; 17 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Imogene & Jerry "Boots" Hurst of Maryville. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Smith Mortuary with Minister George Gilbert and Rev. Greg Kelley officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel.
