Nell W. Burns

Nell Wheeler Burns age 98 of Townsend, TN passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 in Baptist Healthcare Center in Lenoir City. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend. Preceded in death by her husband, James Luther Burns. Sr; parents, Robert B. Wheeler and Ellen Hitch Wheeler; brothers, RB "Pickle" Wheeler, John H. Wheeler, James A. Wheeler, and William Wheeler; sisters-in-law, Marion Wheeler and Mildred Wheeler. She is survived by her son, James L. Burns, Jr., MD and wife Becky Burns; grandchildren, Jacob Burns and Allie Burns; sisters-in-law, Maxine Wheeler, Bobbie Wheeler, and Charlotte Burns; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the Smith West Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909 or the Arthritis Foundation, 209 10th Avenue South, Suite 228, Nashville, TN 37203 in memory of Nell.
