Nathaniel Douglas Robinson, 33, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 20, 2024, after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. Born and raised in Alcoa, Tennessee, Nate was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. His strength, courage, and unwavering commitment to his community will be remembered by all who knew him. A graduate of Alcoa High School, Nate was an accomplished athlete and a key member of the Alcoa Tornadoes football team. His passion for defense helped the team secure four state championships during his time on the field, and he remained a proud supporter of his alma mater throughout his life. After high school, Nate earned an Associate's Degree in Sociology from Pellissippi State Community College and pursued a career in law enforcement. He joined the Maryville Police Department, where he served with dedication and integrity for over a decade. A Corporal and member of the SWAT team, Nate was proud to serve his community and had an unbreakable bond with his brothers and sisters in blue. While he may have always been serious at work, Nate was often cutting up and having a good time around his family and friends. He was an avid Tennessee Vols fan who loved game days. His love for the Vols was rivaled only by his deep affection for his dog, Riggs, who was his loyal companion for the past seven years. Nate is survived by his parents, Roger and Traci Robinson; grandmother, Faye Sager; sister, Rachel Cardwell and her husband Steven; twin brother, Daniel Robinson and his fiancé Lindsay; nieces who he loved to spoil, Allie, Lacie, and Harper; best friends Elizabeth Irwin and Reid Walker; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Dr. Doug Sager and Gene Robinson, and his grandmother Kathleen Robinson. Nate’s family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, from 4:00-6:00 PM. at East Maryville Baptist Church, followed by a celebration of life at 6:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 AM at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
