Myrtle Muse Mitchell

Mitchell, Myrtle Muse age 92 of Knoxville, born October 26, 1918 in Prince Rupert, B.C., Canada passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 with her family by her side. Mrs. Mitchell was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church. She retired as the Director of Nursing and Assistant Administrator of Hillcrest South Nursing Home in 1998. Since her retirement she was extremely active with her family and friends. She loved traveling and was a hospital volunteer She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Barry Mitchell; parents William Thomas and Alverda Greear Muse; her brothers, James Greear, William Joseph and John H.(Jack) Muse; sisters, Mary Sue Mount, and Marjorie Ellen Brockman. She is survived by her daughters, Melodie Mitchell Wilkey (Herbert) of Nashville, IL and Greear Mitchell Trew of Memphis, TN, son, Barry Muse Mitchell (Sandra) of Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Victoria Wilkey and her friend Kathleen Spencer, Nashville, IL, Angela Wilkey Dunbar (Troy), Nashville, IL, Lori Trew Regis (Eric), Atoka, TN, Rebecca Trew Pedersen (Rick), Chicago, IL, Megan Mitchell, Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Mathes (Ashleah), Marion, IL, Parrish Dunbar, Nashville, IL, Madelyn and Steven Regis, Atoka, TN; her sister-in law Mrs. Trula Muse of Mountain City, TN, extended family: Missy Johnson, Hayley Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Jason Chambers (Angie), Jake and Lily Chambers and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel with funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will assemble for interment Friday, January 14, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain City, TN.
