Myron Charles Farner, born April 12, 1954, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Charles Lesley Farner and Frances Juanita Spurling Farner, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Odas and Mattie Mason, and brother-in-law, Lonas Edward Mason. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Mason Farner and their son, Nathan, and daughter-in-law Lauren Dye Farner. He is survived by his brother, Almerine and Martha Farner, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harry and Leona Plumlee, Willard and Toni Nichols, and Shelia Mason, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Myron graduated from Everett High School with the class of 1972. Immediately following graduation, he joined the Tennessee Air National Guard where he served in the 228th Combat Communication Squadron for 29 years. After retirement from the airbase, Myron worked part-time at Northgate RV for several years. He enjoyed attending Rocky Branch Community Center on Friday nights, listening to and making music, and writing songs. Myron was a member of East Alcoa Baptist Church. Receiving of friends will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM with the Reverends Brooky Gray and David Kirkland officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 9:00 AM on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Grandview Cemetery Pavilion.
