Minnie Sims

Minnie "Lorene" Sims age 99 (born in 1908), departed this life and went to be with Jesus on November 28, 2008. She will be remembered for the kindness for all, the many lives she touched, and the love for God she shared. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Roy Sims Sr. of 69 years; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She was the last survivor of her family. Survivors include: Son, Roy Mack Sims and wife Janice of Maryville; Grandchildren, Sam Sims of Maryville, Lynn Covert & husband Tim of Lansing, MI, Sonya McMichael & husband Donnie of Flowery Branch, GA, and Belinda Clayton of Maryville; Great-Grandchildren (oldest to youngest), Clinton Sims, Cristy McMichael, Amanda Nelsen, Caleb McMichael, Amy Covert, Travis McMichael, Brently Mancini, Ryan McMichael, Johnathan Clayton; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Shianne McMichael and Madelynn Nelsen; Special friends include: Mike, Dede and Andrew Johnson and her family as Asbury Acres and staff and nurses who she loved very much. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Smith Trinity Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. John Whitehead and Rev. Ray McKeehan officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Allegheny Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment.
