Minnie Doris Lowe

March 28, 1910 — October 25, 2011

Minnie Doris Pendergrass Lowe, age 101 � , went to be with The Lord Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. She was the daughter of the late Lula Mae and Oscar Pendergrass of Saint Claire, TN and was the wife of the late Thomas A. Lowe of Maryville. Doris graduated from Ft. Sanders School of Nursing at Knoxville in 1934 and had an active career as a Registered Nurse. She and Tom were members of Everett Hills Baptist Church for over 50 years where she was lovingly known as Penny. She enjoyed watching Tennessee Vols football games, visiting the Smoky Mountains and looking forward to visits from her family. She is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law, T. Gordon and Claudia Lowe of Signal Mountain, TN; Daughter and Son-in-law, Malinda Lowe Walden and Mack of Bedford, TX; Grandchildren, Dana Walden of Geneva, Switzerland, Gant Walden (Natalie) of Grapevine, TX, and Christopher Lowe of Cumming, GA; Great-Grandchildren, Mason and Madison Walden of Grapevine, TX; sister, Lucy P. Draper of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Staff of Summit View Senior Community of Chattanooga for their dedicated care. The family and friends will assemble for graveside services and interment at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Grandview Cemetery, 2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803, with Rev. R.M. Everett officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to: Everett Hills Baptist Church, 501 S. Everett High Rd, Maryville, TN 37804.
