Mildred Agnes Young Prince born in Monroe County on April 24, 1918, passed away at Shannondale of Maryville on Sunday, October 21, 2012. She is of the Baptist Faith and is a member at the First Baptist Church of Alcoa. Mrs. Prince was the owner of a hair dressing salon for many years, served in many offices of Prudent No. 270 Order of the Eastern Star and was the Worthy Matron in 1964. She enjoyed cooking, yard work and sewing. Preceded in death by: Husband, William (W.J.) Jesse Prince; Parents, Dama & Charles Young; Sisters, Ruby Young and Genevieve Greene; Brothers, Douglas Young, Verlon Ray Young, and Charles R. Young; Stepfather, Guy Anderson; Half Brother, Donald Anderson. She leaves behind; Son, W. Ron Prince; Daughter, Dolores Barr & husband Joe; Granddaughter, Amy Caponetti & husband James; Grandson, W. Brian Prince & wife Patricia; Great-Grandchildren, Bo Caponetti, Alissa Ann Caponetti, and Rebecca Wood. The family appreciates the kindness shown by the Shannondale Assisted Living staff. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Smith Chapel with Rev. Steve Linginfelter officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Smith Chapel.
