Mildred Louise Kilpatrick age 97 of Vonore passed away, Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Shannondale of Maryville. She was born August 26, 1912 in Tellico Plains to Raleigh and Mary Luther. She attended Hiwassee College and Tennessee Wesleyan College and taught school in a one room schoolhouse in Monroe County. She and her late husband owned Vonore Drug Store in Vonore for many years. She was a member of Vonore United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by: Parents, Raleigh & Mary Luther; Husband, William (Bill) Kilpatrick; Sisters, Elize Mae Stephens, Reba Plemons, Althea Johnson, and Zola Brown; Brothers, J.D. Luther & Price Luther and an infant brother. Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law, Billy G. & Georgia Kilpatrick of Sevierville and Joel & Loretta Kilpatrick of Greenback; Grandchildren and wives, Brent & Regina Kilpatrick of Greenback, Blake & Amy Kilpatrick of Knoxville, Kevin & Dee Kilpatrick of Sevierville, & Kent Kilpatrick of Sevierville; Great-Grandchildren, Tavin & Rorie Kilpatrick of Greenback and Harrison Kilpatrick of Knoxville; Sisters, Ruth Mitchell of Maryville and Zelma Leach of CA; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Morning View, Shannondale of Maryville, and Blount Memorial Hospice. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Friday, August 28, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Bobby Ely, Rev. Catherine Nance, and Rev. Richard Rudesill officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave. Ste. H102, Knoxville, TN 37919-9921 or a charity of your choice.
