Michael Douglas Fulcher, III

It is with heartbreaking agony that we announce the passing of our son, Michael Douglas Fulcher III, on June 4, 2023.  He was known as Trey to his family and close friends. Trey was born in Knoxville, TN on January 27, 2004 and grew up in Maryville, TN.  He was homeschooled until he attended and graduated from Heritage High School from 2019-2021. He was a student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and was majoring in Nuclear Engineering.  While in high school, Trey started playing lacrosse for the Blount County Bulldogs and continued his love to the sport by playing for UT in college.  He was also a proud founder of the Delta Upsilon fraternity at UT. Although he was only 19 at the time of his death, Trey affected many people during his lifetime.  He was deeply committed to the people in his life.  He was often confused by the thanks he would get for just doing the things that came naturally to him.  Whether it was feeding friends when he found out they had only eaten bread for days or leaving work late at night to fix someone’s car or check in on people he knew were feeling or coming to spend extra time with his younger brother before he leaves for college. Trey just always showed up in any way he could without expectation. Trey leaves behind his parents, Michael Fulcher II and Danielle Fulcher, his brother, Brennen “Alex” Fulcher, and his grandparents, James (who Trey called Oompa) and Lynette Doucett and Reba Fulcher.  He was welcomed into the arms of Jesus with his grandfather, Michael Fulcher, by his side.
