Merle Mae Jenkins Luther

Merle Mae Jenkins Luther age 86 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville where she taught Sunday School to four year olds for about 30 years. She also briefly taught at Notchey Creek School and Tellico Elementary and worked for Miller's Department Store in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 � years, James D. Luther; parents, Arthur F. and Lillie M. Jenkins Sr.; brother, Arthur F. Jenkins, Jr.; sisters, Addie Atkins, Grace Jenkins, and Blanche Jenkins. Survivors include: daughter, Carol Janette Luther of Maryville; brother, Lowell Jenkins and sister, Billie Jenkins Scruggs, both of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 7:00pm, Monday, June 2, 2008, at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. Family & friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Memorial donations may be made to Blount County Library, 508 N.
