Max Edward Cornwell, age 75, of Indiana, formally of Maryville, went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 29, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana. He was a former member of the Prudentia Lodge in Alcoa, TN. While residing in Tennessee, he was employed by the University of Tennessee and Church Street Methodist in Knoxville. He retired from U.S. Can in Alsip, Illinois. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and granddad. Preceded in death by: parents, Pearlie and Pauline; daughter, Michelle; and sister, Aileen. Survivors include: wife, Shirley of 50 years; daughter, Marcella; grandchildren, Charles and Tierra; brothers, Donnie, David, and Darryl; and sisters, Willa Jean, Deanna, and Darlene; many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 7:00pm, Monday, September 5, 2011 in Smith’s Trinity Chapel, with the Rev. Ronnie Silvey officiating. The interment will be at 1:00pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
