Maurice W. Oliver

Maurice W. "Ollie" Oliver, 73, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 25, 1933, in Royersford, Pennsylvania to Hanley and Selah (Smoyer) Oliver. Ollie grew up in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served as a Hospital Corpsman from 1951-1954. For the last thirty years, Ollie has lived in East Tennessee and has been the owner/operator of Dura-Mark Sign Company. He is survived by his children Rick (Sandy) Oliver of Gilbert, Arizona; Michael (Linda) Oliver of Oswego, Illinois; Brian Oliver of Sheridan, Illinois; and Lisa Cousins of Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by his grandchildren Matthew Oliver of Illinois, Sarah Oliver of Arizona, and Blake Cousins of Illinois, as well as three brothers and two sisters. Ollie never met a stranger, and will always be remembered for his cheerful sense of humor ("You can't make this stuff up!"). He enjoyed playing golf and telling jokes, and was a talented craftsman. Ollie was loved by his family and friends, and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Smith Mortuary, 1402 E.
