Rev. Mattye Bowman

Rev. Mattye Kirby Bowman age 99 of Maryville passed away Friday, August 3, 2007 at Asbury Acres Health Care Center. She was the last surviving child of the late Samuel & Stella Nation. Preceded in death by: First Husband, G.C. Kirby; Second Husband, Retired Methodist Minister, Harry Bowman. Mattye was also a Retired Methodist Minister and was the first female minister in the Methodist Holston Conference. Survivors include: Several Nieces and Nephews; Special friend, Florence Hurst of Maryville. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Smith West Chapel with Dr. Jerry Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
