Matthew R. Harrison, age 22, of Maryville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at U.T. Medical Center following a tragic accident on an ATV outing with friends. Matthew was a 2012 graduate of Maryville High School where he was a member of the football team. He loved the great outdoors, fishing, and riding ATV trails with his friends on his Polaris RZR. Matthew loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time at “the Creek” with them. He loved helping others and was always a phone call away to anyone. Matthew was currently employed with Ritchie Powersports of Athens, TN. To him it was not work because his passion for RZRs was limitless. He was a devoted son, brother, nephew, and grandson who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Floyd Harrison and Ebon Hill. He is survived by his parents, Cecil and Lori Harrison of Maryville; sister, Christina Harrison and brother, Andrew Harrison, both of Maryville; Grandmothers, Marie Harrison of Albertville, AL, and Neva Hill of Daytona Beach, FL; aunts and uncles, James and Susan Harrison of Philadelphia, TN, Joyce and Stanley Durham of Freeport, FL, Betty and Jack Baker of Huntsville, AL, and Greg and Teresa Hill of Daytona Beach, FL; also survived by numerous cousins, family members, and friends. A Celebration of Matthew’s Life will be held on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Smith Trinity Chapel with his uncle, James Harrison, officiating. A time for fellowship with the family will follow at the Smithview Pavilion, 601 Smithview Drive, Maryville, TN 37803.
