Mary Bernice Wilson, age 84, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 17, 2012. Bernice was born on November 27, 1927, in Townsend, Tennessee. She worked and retired from Levi Strauss in Maryville. She was a member of the Townsend Church of God. She loved bird watching and working in her garden. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wilson; son, Charles (Mike) Wilson; parents, Charles and Virgie Lee Webb; and brother, Edgar Webb. She is survived by her daughters, Angela Hale (Dale) and Susie Wilson (Ken); son, David Wilson (Angela); sisters, Ethel Cutshaw, Beatrice Huskey and Geneva Thacker; brothers, Jimmy Webb and Paul Webb; daughter-in-law, Christine Wilson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Jeff Dockery officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Bethel Baptist Church, Highway 321, Townsend. Pallbearers are Jimmy Webb, Alan Myers, Philip Wilson, Carl Wilson, Kenneth Campbell, and Dale S. Hale. Following the burial, please join the family at the Bethel Baptist Church fellowship hall to celebrate the life of Bernice Wilson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Townsend Church of God, P.O. Box 57, Townsend, Tennessee.
