Mary Ellen Shatterly

Mary Matthews Shatterly went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mary was born and raised in Donaldsonville, GA. She resided in Atlanta, GA for most of her life until moving to Maryville in 2000. She was a lifelong Christian who loved her Savior Jesus Christ. Mary's passion was her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by those left behind. Preceded in death by: Parents, Bozie & Mattie Lou Williams; Brothers, Edwin Williams and Rudolph Williams; Sister, Beverly Morgan; 1st Husband, Billy Matthews; 2nd Husband, Clinton J. Shatterly. Survivors include: Daughter & Son-in-law, Debbie & Harry Tipton of Walland and Kim & Bill Massengill of Grayson, GA; Grandchildren, Ashley Nuchols of Maryville, Trey Massengill and Samantha Massengill both of Grayson, GA; Great-Grandchildren, Kayla Nuchols, Sierra Nuchols, and Joshua Nuchols; Brother & Sister-in-law, Carol & Jan Williams; Sister & Brother-in-law, Barbara & Ralph Moore; Life-long friend, Sarah Jo Pinson; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Darren Wigington officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
