Mary C. McCampbell

Mary Norris McCambpell age 96 of Townsend passed away at Asbury Place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 under Hospice care. A graduate of Alcoa High School, she attended Maryville College and worked at ALCOA in the lab during WW II. Married in 1944, she was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that enjoyed a career at Blount Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records Department where she retired after 24 years of service. Mary was a faithful and devoted member of Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church serving the church in many ways. As a 60+ year member of the Mary Blount Chapter #133 order of The Eastern Star, she served as Worthy Matron in 1966. She and her husband were charter members of East TN Region of Antique Automobile Club of America. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Emory McCampbell; parents, Hattie and Jessie Norris; infant brother; step mother, Jo Pearl Norris. Survivors include her son, Blake McCampbell and wife, Sue; granddaughter, Angie Kizer (Preston); grandson, Randy McCampbell; great granddaughter, Lindsey Kizer; niece, Betty Roberts (John); nephew, Don McCampbell (Zeny); great niece, Donna Tooley (Don); great nephew, John Fain (Kathryn); special friends, Mary Davis, and June and Windell Amos. Family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in the Smith West Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 with Rev. Richard Rudesill officiating.
