Mary Ruth Everett

Mary Ruth (Shields) Everett age 82 of Maryville passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and a member of Piney Level Missionary Baptist Church. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Everett, Jr.; son, Gary Vaughn Everett; parents, Fredrick and Alice Shields; brothers, J.D. Shields, Perry Shields, and Bruce Shields. Survivors include her son, Steven (Bud) Everett of Maryville; daughter, Carolyn Everett of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Steve Newman of Maryville; grandchildren, Dustin and Natalie Gross, Josh and Angela Newman, Jessica Newman and fiancé Ronnie Long, Jordan Newman, Corey Everett, Daniel Everett, Melissa Everett, and Kristen and Paul Gunter; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Wade and his wife Shirley Shields; sister-in-law, Bonnie Shields; brother-in-law, Jim and wife Dorothy Everett; special friends, Sharan Nunn and Pat Delozier. Mary was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the members of Piney Level Missionary Baptist Church for their support. The funeral service will be held at 7:00PM on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Smith’s West Chapel with the Rev. George Macht officiating. The interment will be at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Piney Level Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00PM on Tuesday in Smith’s West Chapel.
