Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Dodds, age 95 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Jackson, MS passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side Saturday, January 28, 2023. Liz was born in the Methodist Parsonage in Houston, MS on December 4, 1927. Liz was raised in Jackson, MS and attended Millsaps College for over 2 years before leaving college and starting her career with South Central Bell. She retired from the telephone company after 42 years in the accounting and data processing departments. She moved to Knoxville, TN in 1999 to be with family for the next 23 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Carey and Louie Dodds; grandparents, William and Carl Dodds, Joseph and Rose Ella Davis. She is survived by her family, Don and Karen Pearson, Brooks and Reecy Pearson, Kathy and Frank Yamamoto, Annette Jennings, Melissa and Jeff Long, Kylie and Mackenzie Pearson, Marley and Marty Rogers, Jake and Robi Long; and various cousins. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to UT Hospice and all her friends in the Treymour Village Community who meant so much to her. Friends may stop by to pay their respects and sign the register book during the hours of 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 PM for Graveside Service and Entombment Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel.
