Jackson, Mary Alma Davis age 95 of Maryville, TN, passed away May 30, 2006 at South Haven Nursing Home in Hoover, AL. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. She was a teacher with the Blount County and Maryville City School Systems. She graduated from Porter High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Tennessee. She received her Master's Degree in Education from Middle Tennessee State University. Preceded in death by: Father, James Will Davis; Mother, Jane Waters Davis; Husband, Meredith Wayne Jackson; Son, Jack Simpson Jackson; Brothers, Alfred & Andrew Davis; Sisters, Grace Walker, Edith Cunningham, and Mary Ida Hilliam; Niece, Dorothy Walker; Nephew, Edwin Cunningham. Survivors include: Daughter and Son-in-law, Bonnie & Joe Rives of Birmingham, AL; Three Grandchildren, Julie Rives Smith & husband Carlo of Maryville, Melinda Rives Turnipseed & husband Robbie of Mobile, AL, John Rives & wife Sumner of Birmingham, AL; Six Great-Grandchildren, Benjamin Rives Smith, Daniel Joseph Smith, Sarah Laurence Smith all of Maryville, Jackson Henry Turnipseed, Coleman Elizabeth Turnipseed, William Andrew Turnipseed of Mobile, AL; Nieces, Juanita Burkhalter of Murfreesboro, Jane Ella Modrall of Tullahoma, Betty C. Johnston of Maryville, Edith C. Woods of Greenback, Hazel C. Johnson of Clinton, Frances Carolyn Walker of Memphis; Nephews, Buryl H. Davis of Maryville, and John D. Walker of Nashville. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 2, 2006 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson officiating.
