Mary Katherine Carter

Carter, Mary Katherine Ethridge Kimsey "Aunt Kat", age 73 of 1322 McArthur Blvd, Manchester, TN passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was born on March 27, 1933 in Loudon County, the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Claude Thomas Ethridge and was the wife of Mr. Wayne Carter. Mary Katherine was well known in Maryville for her daycare, Kat's Kiddie Kare and her love and devotion to so many people. Preceded in death by her step-daughter, Joann Carter. Kat is survived by her husband, Mr. Wayne W. Carter; three sons, Bobby Joe Kimsey and wife, Penny, Dennis Maynard Kimsey and wife, Dee Dee, and Timothy Dean Kimsey and wife, Tracy; step-son, Michael W. Carter; four brothers, William T. Ethridge of Maryville, John T. Ethridge of Mountain City, TN, David Ethridge of Vonore, and James (Jim) T. Ethridge of Flower Mound, TX; ten grandchildren, Dicie Headrick, Drew Kimsey, D.J. Kimsey, Aaron Kimsey, Josh Kimsey, Micah Kimsey, Katlin Kimsey, Lakin Kimsey, Ryan Catledge and Adam Catledge; two great grandchildren, Maguire and Baylor Headrick. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Carl White officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Grandview Cemetery for the Interment. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Coffee County Senior Center, 603 Woodbury Highway, Manchester, TN 37355 in memory of Mary Katherine. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
