Marvin Kenneth Brown

Marvin Kenneth Brown of Maryville passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011. He was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School in PA, Philadelphia Biblical University, Purdue University where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering, and Florida Atlantic University where he received a MBA. He retired from IBM in Florida and moved to Maryville, TN. Shortly after moving, he gained employment in the University of Tennessee Engineering Department. He was always involved in ministry work, serving as a missionary abroad, establishing a radio station at East Maryville Baptist Church, and was instrumental in the production and operation of the TV Ministry at Broadway Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, T. Kenneth and Lucile M. Brown. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Brown; daughter, Annette Brown Traore and husband, Malick; son, Jeffrey Brown; granddaughter, Nia Traore; sisters, Harriett Perkins and Eileen Churchill. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Collins officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Broadway Baptist Church, 2329 E.
