Martin J. King died on January 22, 2012 at the age of 50 in Maryville, Tennessee. He was born on January 16, 1962 in Syracuse, New York. Martin is survived by his parents, Ray and Diane, his wife, Wanda, daughter Lyndsey, son Nolan, and brother Chris. He received his J. D. Law degree from the University of Maryland. He then attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy and went on to serve the Bureau in numerous positions for 25 years including Special Agent in Greensboro, North Carolina and North Miami, Florida, Chief Legal Council in Springfield, Illinois, Legal Instructor at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and Supervisory Special Agent, Chief Division Council in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was highly respected for his professionalism, dedication to his work, and broad based knowledge of many subjects. He also had many interests outside of his work. He had a strong interest in Civil War history and Porsche automobiles. He loved animals and took great pride in his “small farm.�? He was a skilled gourmet cook, and a very talented artist. He particularly enjoyed spending time supporting his children’s activities. A memorial service will be held at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church on the corner of William Blount Drive and Morganton Road at 2:00 p. m. on Saturday, January 28 with visitation to follow.
