Martha Juanita Shields

Martha Juanita Shields, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She recently retired from Blount County Government after 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. John L. and Hazel Roark Way; brother, Charles David Way. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Bobby Jack Shields; sisters, Doris (Donald) Hutchens, Barbara (James) Bates, Janice Booher, Donna (Tommie) Burton, Patsy (Roger) Hurd; brother, Johnny (Lisa) Way; brother-in-law, Dean Shields; sister-in-law, Ann Branam; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Carl White officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. Family will receive friends fro m5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
