Hill, Marjorie "Kate", born September 5, 1922 went to her heavenly home September 2, 2006. She was a Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was the oldest charter member of Mountain View Baptist church. She passed away peacefully at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Kate touched many lives while here on earth. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; Houston and Beaulah Stafford; husband, Rev. Henry Hill; son, Michael "Mike" Hill; sons-in-law, Dwight Goins and Dukes Harkleroad; brother, John Stafford; sisters, Nellie Scarbrough, Martha Hurst, and Dena Garland. She is survived by her daughter, Lucille Harkleroad; daughter and son-in-law, Dora and Rev. Obie Campbell, daughter, Julia Goins, daughter and son-in-law, Ruth an Allen Jones, daughter, Henrietta Hill, sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Harrison and Nancy Hill, Ronald and Velma Hill, Eddie and Phyllis Hill, daughter-in-law, Sharon Hill; sister, Rachael Hipps of California; grandchildren, Keela Buckner, David Harkleroad, Laura Flynn, Debra Walker, Randy Campbell, Janet Reagan, Rev. Scott Campbell, Sharon Clark, Felicia Griffin, Duane Hill, Charlene Bailey, Darrell Hill, Tammy Lowe, Veronica Worth, Jamie Hill, James Jones, Todd Jones, Alex Jones, Tony Jones, Kevin Hill, Katrina Davis, Bridget Hill, Bret Hill, and 46 great grandchildren also survive. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Blount Memorial Hospital and Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Special thanks to Kevin Martin of Colonial Hills for his loving, attentive care for our mother. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Scott Campbell, Rev. Obie Campbell, and Rev. Harrison Hill officiating and closing prayer by her son, Ronald Hill. Music will be provided by her granddaughters, Leanne Jones and Veronica Worth, and her daughter-in-law, Velma Hill. Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in Cloyds Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 4, 2006 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
