Marjorie Alice Carroll

Marjorie Alice Carroll, age 88 of Maryville, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at Shannondale of Maryville.  She was born May 18, 1935, in Los Angeles, California. Marge was devoted to her husband and family. Those who knew her describe her as honest, forthright, kind, creative, an excellent chef and gardener, fiercely independent, and a fun woman with a wry sense of humor. Her hobbies include visiting shut-ins for her church, delivering Meals on Wheels, teaching non-English speakers to read, and educating newly diagnosed celiac sprue patients on ways to manage their condition. She loved reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling with her husband, Bob. She graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA.  She attended 10th Avenue Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA and New Providence Presbyterian in Maryville, TN.  Preceded in death by:  husband, Robert D. Carroll; mother, Clara A. Logan; father, Russell A. Logan, Sr.; stepbrothers, Russell A. Logan, Jr. and Donald Logan. Survivors include: daughter, Linda C French and husband James W., of Maryville, TN; grandson, James R. and wife Stephanie; great-grandson, Ryan of Powell, Ohio; daughter, Karen Callahan and husband John; granddaughters, Tori and Liz, of Springfield, Virginia; son, Thomas D. Carroll and wife Terri; step-daughter, Miranda Navratil of Maryville, TN; and several cousins and many friends throughout the United States.
