Marie Berry Weaver age 84 of Maryville passed away Sunday morning, February 22, 2009 at the family home. Marie was born on April 16, 1924 in Sharps Chapel, TN. On August 13, 1951, she married Willis Wayne Weaver in Tazewell, TN. For the next 27 years, they lived in Clifton, IL. In August, 1978, they moved back to Tennessee. She was a member of Halls Primitive Baptist Church and attended East Maryville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years who passed away December 21, 2008; her parents, Bud and Helen Berry; and sister, Ora Bridges. Marie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Kerry Weaver of Ashkum, IL; daughter, Brenda Weaver, and daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Scott Potter, all of Maryville; grandsons, Shane Weaver and wife Sarah of Olathe, KS, Luke Weaver of Yorkville, IL, and Jake Potter of Maryville; a great-grandchild is due in August; sister, Trula Berry of Maryville; brothers, Forester Berry of Knoxville and Lee Berry of Sharps Chapel; nieces and nephews, Betty Long, Carolyn Vineyard, Vicky Whitaker, Janice Rutherford, Jeanie Bowling, and Ernie, Erwin, Edwin, and Edward Berry. Pallbearers are Shane Weaver, Luke Weaver, Jake Potter, Ralph Weaver, Ernie Berry, and Erwin Berry; honorary pallbearers are Edwin Berry and Edward Berry. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in Smith's Trinity Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Riner officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at East Maryville Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Trinity Chapel. Arrangements by Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 983-1000.
