Marie Kook

Marie Jean Ackerman Kook (87), of Maryville passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Morning View Transitional Care Center. She was a retired watercolor artist and former member of the Blount County Arts and Crafts Guild and The Naples (FL) Artist Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur E. Ackerman and Josephine H. Ackerman, her husband of 62 years, Richard Kook; and sister, Nancy C. Ackerman. She is survived by her brother W. E.(Bill) Ackerman, Jr., wife Shirley of Lenoir City; daughter Jo Ellen Barrow, husband John of Maryville; son Richard Ackerman Kook, wife Sarice of Canton, GA; son Christopher Jay Kook, wife Regina of Roseboro, NC; Grandchildren Sherri Barrow Baggett (Keith), Richard Henry Barrow (Linda), Heather Kook Cato (Matt), Richard Buchanan Kook (Angela), William Austin Phillips, Amanda Ellen Kook, and Andrew Christopher Kook; Great-grandchildren Campbell Leith Cato, Evan Matthew Cato, Emma Renee’ Barrow, Hannah Jo Barrow, Marissa Leigh Barrow; Reed Buchanan Kook, and other family members and friends.
