Marian Smith

Marian (Tipton) Smith peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2023.  She was a member of Middlesettlements United Methodist Church and attended Immanuel United Methodist Church and was active in many different activities in the churches.  Proceeded in death by parents Willie Guy Tipton and Mary Lou (Gentry) Tipton, brother Harry Tipton, grandson Chad Smith and granddaughters, Emily Paige and Darby Lane Tindell.  Survived by husband of 53 years Charles L. Smith Sr.; Brother Kenneth Tipton (Rosalind): children Phillip Tindell (Sherry), Dawn Harmon (Neal), Robin Henry and Chip Smith (April).  Loving children by marriage: Lowell Smith (Debbie) and Terri Monaghan.  Grandmother to Tamsen, Corey, Hannah, Wade, TJ and wife Tierra, Hunter, Gentry, Melina, Erin, Mattie, Lucas and Brooklyn and great-grandmother to Logan, Allison and Braylin.  Marian graduated from Friendsville High School and was active in class reunions.  Also, a graduate of Knoxville Business College and Tennessee Young Bankers School at Vanderbilt Business School. Active in supporting and Treasurer of The Sertoma Club.  While raising her children, she had a 22-year career at Citizens Bank of Blount County.  Starting out as a teller and after many promotions ending as a Banking Officer and a Branch Manager.  Marian enjoyed traveling with Senior Saints and the many tours with Smitty.  She fancied a good game night, playing Chicken Foot with friends and especially enjoyed her piano lessons. Special thanks to caregivers Debbie Holt, Vickie Durbin and Marsha Moore, Hospice Amy Ellis, Hiroko Odom, Jan Endsley and Windy Sise.  Also, thanks to Leona and Roland Mote and Immanuel United Methodist for providing food and prayers. Friends and family will gather at the Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment service at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 25, 2023 with Rev.
