Margaret Rose Wright

Margaret Rose Wright, age 85 of Maryville, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, August 20, 2022. Born in Aylesbury, England on May 4, 1937. Her family then relocated to Doncaster, in Northern England where she grew up. She served two years in the Royal Air Force at Finingly, England where she met her husband. Margaret and Glen were married on June 25, 1960 and celebrated 62 years of marriage this year. Margaret and her family immigrated to Maryville, TN in 1978 due to her husband’s work. Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Annie Bennett; sisters, Audrey Hunter and Betty Burns; great-grandson, Aiden Cooper. Survived by husband, Glen Wright; brother, Bobby Bennett; son and daughter-in-law, David and Brenda Wright; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Steve Roark; grandson, Andy Cooper; granddaughter and husband, Rachel and Jordan Conley; great-grandkids, Jaxson, Kesler, McKinley, and Cade. Margaret was an active member of Baker’s Creek Presbyterian Church. She had a love for the theater, especially musicals, and also loved all animals. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Blount County Animal Shelter, 233 Currie Ave, Maryville, TN 37804. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM for Graveside Service and Interment on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Baker’s Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Ron Sabo officiating.
