Margaret L. Walker

Margaret L. Rathbone Walker, age 83 of Maryville, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Friendly Hill Baptist Church in Townsend. She enjoyed her family, has traveled to 48 of the 50 states, and loved to travel with her husband. She was preceded by father, Ray Rathbone, mother, Grace Russell Rathbone, sister, Billie Stinnett, brother, James Rathbone. Survived by husband of 66 years Rufus Eugene "Soupy" Walker; sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin Walker and wife Shirley, of Rockford; Mike Walker and wife Barbara of Nashville; daughters, Sue Walker Graves and husband Larry Graves of Friendsville; Jennie Walker Baird and Phillip Baird of Maryville; brother, Allen and wife Alisa of Maryville, sister, Betty and husband John Marcum of Maryville, grandchildren David and Amy Walker, Jason and Melissa Walker, Brian and Jennifer Walker, Danny and Sally Walker, Robert Baird and Kelly Rivers, and Clayton Baird; great grandchildren, Aidan Walker, Ellie Walker, Carlie Walker, Emily Walker, Madison Walker, and Jackson Walker; Step-mother Clara Endsley Rathbone of Maryville, Loving nephew, Steve Stinnett and wife Shirley, nephews, Billy Ray Rathbone, Jim Rathbone, Corey Rathbone, Dylan Rathbone, David Marcum; niece, Anne Pearson; many special friends in Townsend. Funeral Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 in the Trinity Chapel with Rev. Fate Green and Rev. Bill Dixon officiating. Family friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Townsend for the interment.
