Marcia Charlotte Lockard, of Maryville passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011. She was born April 9, 1922, in Baltimore MD, the youngest of five children of Louis and Clara Smith. Marcia worked as a Coty Cosmetics sales representative from her late teens to early 20’s and was the youngest Coty saleswoman in Maryland. She married her teenage sweetheart, Spaulding E. Lockard Jr., in 1945 following his return from service in WWII. Preceded in death by parents Louis and Clara (Heiner) Smith, sister Violet, brothers Joseph and Louis and specially beloved sister Lila, husband Spaulding, brother-in-law Raymond Lockard and wife May (Hughes) Lockard, brother-in-law F. Leonard Guildener and mother-in-law Lillian V. (Green) Lockard. Survived by son Michael P. Lockard, daughter-in-law Nancy Rowan Lockard, daughter Patricia Lockard Adkinson, grandchildren Nathaniel Lockard and wife Meghan, Matthew Lockard, Brennan Adkinson, Elissa Adkinson, nephews and nieces Robert Smith, Joseph Smith, Janet Smith Kunert, Victoria Lockard, her son Nicholas Lockard. And specially cherished great-granddaughter Emmerson “Little Precious�? Lockard. She will be buried alongside her husband in Baltimore National Cemetery.
