Mannie Henry, age 77, passed away at home on Monday, January 17, 2022 after an extended illness. Mannie was born in Loudon, TN and moved to Blount County as a teenager. She was a devoted, single mother of four who worked at Levi’s, Schlegel’s and Fort Sanders Hospital until her family was raised. Even while working full-time, she was very involved with her children’s and grand-children’s activities and could often be found at football, basketball, and baseball games cheering them on. After she retired, she started caring for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other children full time. Preceded in death by: Parents, Macie L. Vaughn and Jody Shubert; Brother, Joe Schubert; Son, Joseph Anthony (Tony) Henry. Survivors include: Sister, Patricia McKenzie; Sons, Tim Henry and Dwayne Henry; Daughter & Son-in-law, Teena & Glenn Carter; Daughter-in-law, Robin Henry; Special Friends, Connie, Mike and Courtney Ball; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-granddaughters who were the joy of her life. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Life Event Center, 1404 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803. Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM.
