Lula Belle Hester

Hester, Lula Belle (Hatcher) (Hagaman) age 85 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Little Creek Nursing Home in Knoxville. She was born in Wildwood where she was known for her “green thumb.�? She loved her flowers as well as the animals she cared for. She was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church. Lula joined the Knoxville Police Department in 1957. She retired after 15 years of service being only the third female on the Department. Preceded in death by: 1st Husband, Raymond Clinton Hagaman; Husband, Arville Dean Hester; Parents, Sam & Annie Hatcher; Sisters, Virginia Faye Hatcher and Edith Wolhwend. Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law, Sam & Jean Hagaman of Columbia, Doug & Patsy Hagaman of Louisville, and Terry & Karen Hester of Knoxville; Daughter & Son-in-law, D Nell & Carl Summey of Cookeville; Daughter, Elaine Hester of Nashville; Nine Grandchildren; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, Lindberg Hatcher & wife Joyce of Maryville, Donald Hatcher of Atlanta, Bobby Hatcher & wife Barbara Jean of Dothan, AL, and Ronnie Hatcher & wife Janis of Maryville; Sisters, Wilma Renfro of Maryville and Barbara Ensminger of Colorado; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Little Creek Nursing Home for their care. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Friday, April 29, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Bill Adams officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. Pallbearers will be: Sammy Hagaman, Greg Summey, Clint Hagaman, Tyson Hester, Jason Summey, and Houston Hagaman.
