Lucy Matlock Roberts

Lucy Matlock Roberts, age 96, of Maryville, died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Laws Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She had a great love for flowers and gardening and was one of the few living daughters of the Civil War Veterans. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Roberts, sons, A.B. and Bill Roberts, daughters, Joan Hutchens and Flora Mae Johnson, brother, Bailey Matlock, sister, Sarah Reeves, and 11 half brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Edna Whaley and Virginia Cox, both of Maryville; 24 Grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Elder Rick Rutherford officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
