Lucille Marie Dehaven

February 19, 1930 — July 28, 2011

Lucille M. DeHaven, 81, of Maryville, formerly of Horseheads, NY died peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law on Thursday, July 28, 2011 after a long illness. She was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Sayre, PA, to the late Harry E. and Ina M. Daskam. Lucille was retired from the Horseheads (NY) Central School District, having worked in the cafeteria of many schools there. She had also worked at American-LaFrance Corp in Elmira, NY and Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Horseheads. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Harry B. DeHaven in 2000, and by her brother Leon O. Daskam in 2009. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, H. Benton and Tami DeHaven; grandchildren, Holly A. Lothridge of Knoxville, TN, Kathleen M. DeHaven of Knoxville, TN, and Samuel D. DeHaven of Rockford, TN. The family would like to thank the loving and compassionate staff of the BMH Hospice team that made it possible for her to be cared for at home, and also for the support they gave the family and other caregivers as well. We would also like to thank Ceil's caregivers, Tami and Maliya for their tireless care and huge amounts of love that they lavished on Ceil. At Ceil's request, there will be no memorial services. She will be taken to Horseheads and interred beside her beloved husband Harry in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads at the family's convenience.
