Lucile Weiss

Lucile Gillespie Stepp Weiss - age 97, of Walland, TN passed away on July 24, 2015 at her home in Johnson City, TN. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Stepp and Raymond Weiss; sisters Abigail, Flora, Annabelle, and Maude; brothers George and Porter; daughter Roberta; and son William. Lucile Weiss was born on January 15, 1918 in Walland, TN to John C. Gillespie and Mary Josephine Walker. She is survived by her son, Robert Stepp of Kingsport, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. Lucile Weiss attended school in Walland and graduated from Maryville College in 1939. She was a lifelong teacher who taught at Maryville College and numerous secondary schools throughout the southeast. She was an avid gardener and active member of the Walland United Methodist Church for most of her life. The family will receive friends 5:30pm until 7pm, Monday, July 27, 2015 at Smith Trinity Chapel, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville. Funeral services will be held at the Walland United Methodist Church at 10:30am Tuesday, July 28, 2015 followed by the burial service at Magnolia Cemetery, Maryville at 12:00pm.
