Loretta Kay Jourdan, 86 years old of Maryville, passed from this life into glory Saturday, February 6th. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lula Kay, her daughter Donna Jourdan, and husband of 46 years, Frank Jourdan. Loretta is survived by her sister Ann Kay, her children Marilyn (Alex) Alvarez, Joanne (Robert) Stickley, Chris (Margaret) Jourdan, and Karen (Andy) Shelton. And by grandchildren Melissa Rogers, Ben (Ashley) Rogers, David Rogers, Eli Rogers, David Alvarez, Bryan (Keri) Stickley, Allison (Kevin) Placido, Matthew (Samantha) Jourdan, and Katie (Cody Miller) Jourdan. And a slew of great-grandchildren with the current count standing at 15. “Mom, Grandma” loved her family and any and every chance to be around them. Loretta loved animals, especially cats. She was a graduate of Old Knoxville High School, a successful league bowler, a girls’ softball and basketball youth coach, an accomplished piano player and vocalist, and served in supervisory roles at both Children’s Hospital and Proffitt’s Department Store. She cared for her husband at home during an extended illness and babysat her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever given the chance. A Memorial and Celebration Service is being planned for a later date.
