Lonnie McClanahan age 68 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday October 16, 2018. He was a lifelong logger and excavator in the Maryville and Blount County area. Lonnie was the owner and operator of McClanahan Excavation and McClanahan Lumber Mill. He was a member of Kagley’s Chapel Baptist Church, an animal lover, and a most giving and compassionate person to a fault. He was a loving and devoted father, grand-father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Jewell McClanahan; two sisters, Erma Jewell and Willodean; and nephew, Donnie Carver. He was survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Susan McClanahan (Adrian Smith) of Memphis, Jennifer Schoch (Russell) of Knoxville; grandson, Aaron Smith; brothers and sisters, Lucille McClemore of Maryville, Melvin and Gloria McClanahan of Maryville, Janie Nuchols (Stanley) of Maryville, Wayne and Kathy McClanahan of Knoxville, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. A celebration of Lonnie’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 19, 2018 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Rex Everett and Rev. David Hammond officiating. The interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Kagley’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
