Loeta (Tipton) Williams

Loeta (Tipton) Williams age 87 of Maryville went to be with her savior on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the family home. Loeta was born in Cades Cove and was a member of one of the original families from Cades Cove. Since 1939 she has been a member of Piney Level Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and was active in vacation bible school as well as serving many other positions in the church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Blount Chapter #133. Preceded in death by: husband Frank Williams, parents Sam and Mary Nancy(Sallie) Tipton, brothers Henry, Wiley, Arlie, Clifford and Gerald Tipton, sisters, Neller Tipton, Nancy Wright, and Mildred Bardill. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law; Sandra and David Carpenter, Tonya and Jerry Bushnell, grandchildren; Nathan and wife Jamie Carpenter, Aaron Carpenter, Michael and wife Amy Bushnell, and Matt Bushnell, brother, Rev. Don Tipton, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thanks to all caregivers especially Jennifer Holsopple, Blount Home Health, Blount Memorial Hospice, and Dr. Scott Gardner. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday July 3, 2012 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. George Macht officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 noon at Piney Level Baptist Church for the interment. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service.
