Linda Holifield

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Elliott Holifield, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who peacefully passed away at home on January 7, 2025. She was 74.

Raised in Blount & Knox Counties, TN, Linda was a graduate of Holston High School and went on to graduate from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1970. She was a nurse for 42 years, and her selfless care touched the lives of countless individuals. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother (Mimi). Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her girls and her grandchildren.

Linda had a lifelong love of animals and all things nature; especially our Smoky Mountains. Trips to the mountains and writing were passions of hers and she had the most beautiful, unique handwriting. She was extremely intelligent and was a lifelong student. She loved to cook, loved R&B music, and loved to dance. Her laughter, sarcasm, and unique sense of humor will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters Hylan Blackwell (Lewis) and Tiffany Mulloy (Thomas), her grandchildren Emilee Langford, Phoebe Mulloy and Caleb Coffman, foster grandchildren Lacie and Scottie; sister Patti Elliott Bryant and half sister Terri Elliott. Betty Jones, a dear friend and devoted caregiver, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly. Preceded in death by her mother Dorothy French Elliott, father Robert J. Elliott, and husband James (Pat) Holifield. 

A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at a later date.

Linda’s legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
