Lillian Marie Lambert, age 89, of Alcoa, TN, beloved wife of Buddy Lambert passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Lillian was born in Maryville, TN on June 1, 1935 to Robert and Millie Duckett of Maryville, TN.
After graduating from Friendsville High School, Lillian married Buddy Lambert, her high school sweetheart, and their 69-year journey together officially began.
Three years into their marriage, Lillian followed Buddy to Germany after he was transferred serving in the Army. They lived there until Buddy’s honorable discharge in 1958.
Following their return from Germany, Lillian gave birth to their son Mike and daughter Judy. Once the children were in school, Lillian went to work for Levi Strauss in Alcoa. She later worked at Wellington Galleries in Knoxville making and hanging draperies. She worked for other companies in the area as a seamstress until she retired in 2000.
Lillian’s love for people was heartfelt, warm and genuine, and she made friends everywhere she went. She loved her grandkids, Nathan, Christa and Derek and great-grandkids Abby, Elijah, Lilly, Josiah and Aliza.
Lillian was a disciple of Christ, a woman who loved the Lord and loved her church. Not only will Lillian be missed by her family, but also by her brothers and sisters at Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Maryville.
The family especially wants to thank the faculty and staff at Brookdale Assisted Living at Sandy Springs. Lillian lived her final two years at Brookdale where she was well cared for and loved by residents and staff alike. Lillian would always say that staff at Brookdale are a “blessing”.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Buddy, her parents, Robert Duckett and Milie Duckett; brothers, William (Bill) Duckett, Arnold Duckett, and Harold Duckett; sisters, Evelyn Charlton and Mildred Thomas and Great-Granddaughter Lydia Wenger.
