Lillard M. White

Lillard Milburn White age 93 of Walland, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center, Maryville. He was a deacon and charter member of East Walland Baptist Church. He retired from Alcoa, Inc. in 1977 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Local 309 U.S.W.A. He was a veteran of CCC's (Roosevelt's Tree Army) and the U.S. Army. He was born June 17, 1915 at Thorn Hill, TN and grew up and attended school at Morristown, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Annabell Burchfield White; parents; John McHenry (Uncle Mack) and Clida Dalton White; sisters, Mary Jane Drinnon, Birda Mae Long, Sarah and Susan White; brothers, Earnest, Charlie, and Lonnie White. Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Gail White of Maryville; David and Marlene White of Walland; granddaughters, Sonya Killian of Maryville, Jessica and Mike Weaver of Clinton; grandson, Steve and Laura Bell of Maryville; great granddaughters, Hayley Fieldhouse and Gianna Bell of Maryville; great grandsons, Dakota Bell and Logan Killian of Maryville; sister, Bertha Lee Miller of Morristown; brothers, Walter White of Maryville, James Hubert and Margiee Lee White of Walland. Millers Cove Road, Walland, TN 37886. The funeral service will be at 7:30 pm on Monday, March 23, 2009 in Smith's Trinity Chapel with the Rev. Milburn White and Rev. Mike White officiating. Family and friends will assemble Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11:00 am at West Miller's Cove Cemetery for the interment.
