Leonard Keith Hord age 78 of Alcoa passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, following a brief illness, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. After 58 years of service, he retired in 2003 from APCOA, Inc. (Airport Parking Company of America) as President of Airport Properties, South. He was preceded in death by mother and father, Howard and Ruby Russell Hord. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Shelley Hord; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Wayne Logan, Karen and Steve Sprouse; grandchildren, Leslie Beale and husband, Leo, Aaron Logan and wife, Katie, Ryan Acuff and fiancé, Alicia Wood, and Laura Acuff; great grandson, Logan Beale; brother, Alvin Hord; sisters, Charlotte Counts, Vivian Hicks, and Marilyn Hicks. Mr. Hord was first and foremost a family man whose special joys in life were his grandchildren and great grandson. He was an avid golfer winning numerous tournaments in the area. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Smith West Chapel Tuesday, March 30, 2010 with the service immediately following with Rev. Amy Probst officiating.
