Leonard Adams, 85, of Maryville, passed away peacefully on April 21 after an extended illness. Leonard was first and foremost a man who loved his family. He cherished his wife (Betty) of 61 years and told her everyday how much he loved her. He told everyone how lucky he was to be married to her. Leonard was a wonderful and kind father to his children, Cliff and Missy. During their childhood he made time for them every day. Leonard loved being a merchant. He worked for years as a manager in the WT Grant Company. He then spent over 25 years as store manager for Wynn’s stores in Knoxville, Sevierville, and Alcoa. Leonard ended his working career as co-owner of Outdoor Sports in Knoxville. Leonard cherished his employees which are too many to mention but absolutely appreciated. Special mention does go to Larry Ellison, Danny Shults and Jerry Floyd. Leonard was a kind man and a man of faith. He grew up in Broad Street United Methodist Church in Kingsport. He was a member for over 50 years at First United Methodist Church in Maryville. Leonard is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Obenshain; brother, Donald Adams; and his beloved son, Cliff Adams. Surviving family members include wife, Betty Adams; daughter, Missy Adams; granddaughters, Kelsie Malone and Amber Adams; and cherished great grandsons, Gabriel Adams and Axavier Adams.
