Lenore Ruth Whitehead

Lenore Ruth (Ridings) Whitehead a longtime resident of Murrysville, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Roanoke, VA. She was born June 17, 1917 in Friendsville, TN. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel L. Whitehead and leaves behind two brothers Charles Avery "Bus" Ridings of Maryville, TN, and Alex "Bill" Ridings of Kingston, TN, as well as three children; Barbara Keywood of Murrysville, PA, Daniel L. Jr. of Durham, NC, and Patricia Gail Whitehead of Fredrick, MD. She also leaves five grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was a Certified Genealogist and lifetime member of the DAR serving as Regent for the Phoebe Bayard Chapter and State Chairman Genealogical Records. In addition she was a member of Colonial Dames XVII Century and several other genealogical societies including the Smoky Mountain Historical Society. A funeral service will be held at Smith Trinity Chapel, Maryville, TN, on Saturday, March 16 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
