Lee Morgan Shahan died on May 3, 2017 in Austell, Georgia. He had been suffering from COPD and emphysema for several years. He was born in Chattanooga, TN on November 21, 1936. After several years, the family moved to Rock Gardens, Alcoa where he enjoyed a happy childhood, which he often reminisced about in later years. Later they moved into Maryville. Lee graduated from Maryville High School, attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and then served in the Unites States Army, being stationed in Korea and Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The rest of his life he lived in Georgia and worked at engineering firms. Preceded in death by: Parents, Max & Evelyn Shahan; Brother, Larry Shahan. Survivors include: Daughter, Liane Shahan Chafin; Son, Lance Morgan Shahan; Granddaughter, Sydney Rebecca Chafin; Great-Grandson, Killian Blaise Wyatt; Longtime Companion, Rose Sola; Sister, Judy S. Blackstock; Mother of his children, Rebecca Shahan Brannon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His dogs were the reason he stayed in his home and they gave him great comfort. Family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM followed by interment at Grandview Cemetery.
