Lawrence Bolling Shore was born October 7, 1934 and lived a wonderful life until April 13, 2023. He was a cattleman and avid gardener. He got his love for cattle through 4-H Club as a teenager and participating in livestock judging contests. He loved Bluegrass and Old-Time Country music and sometimes played guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and harmonica. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, earning a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry degree. He was a founding member of the Alpha Gamma Rho chapter at the University of TN, Knoxville. There he served as Noble Ruler and was also recognized as a University of TN Torchbearer. He served two years as an Infantry Ranger and attained the rank of Captain before entering the US Army Reserves. He worked 31 years as a certified Golf Course Superintendent at Germantown Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward Riddick Shore and Katherine Murphey Shore and his older brother Edward Riddick Shore, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Faythe Cantrell Shore, their three sons: Alex Bolling Shore, Daniel Riddick Shore and Samuel Murphey Shore and 8 grandchildren, Sarah Katherine Shore, Davis Martin Shore, Jeremy Robert Shore, Mary Elizabeth Shore, Nathaniel Britton Shore, Connor Daniel Shore, Annaliese Faythe Shore and Julia Grace Shore. He was a member of the Church of God. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, with funeral service to follow at noon in the Smith West Chapel with Pastor Ken Swiger officiating.
